This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a second-grade teacher on the south side of Chicago. There are many challenges that face my students each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are from low-income families. The majority of our families fall below the poverty level.

My project will help organize our classroom into a more student friendly environment.

These organizing bins and label maker will help make our classroom more accessible for all students to help. The label maker can even do pictures for some of my students who aren't confident readers yet! This will help improve our classroom community by helping my students take ownership in our space.
