Organize to Recognize ~ Personal Levels of Mastery!
Help me give my students the supplies they need to have their own hands-on manipulative mats, organize their individual work and create personal boards to display and show their level of Mastery for daily Learning Activities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At-Home Learning through e-Classrooms and a Virtual Google Meets 90 mins each class all day. It has hit these young students, and I quite a bit differently than others dealing with COVID 19. As I approach the 2nd Semester of Distant Virtual at Home Learning and Working at a G.L.O.B.A.L. school, I need to provide these young developing minds with all the resources they should have. Unfortunately they still do not have full access, with testing just around the corner.
My students are 99% English language learners and all receive Free lunch.
They took there exams in their 1st language and now everything is in English and they are struggling readers that are compassionate and caring. Just issuing each a personal copy of Hidden Figures from another project had their eyes illuminated with excitement.
They are remaining at home to ensure their safety and longevity of life while trying to be educated through this pandemic at a crucial year of life 7th-grade. The Summer Programs for the district offered so much for the students, yet there has been zero support at all for the materials to be available to the students at home and allow them to achieve same level.
My Project
This project is created to obtain ink cartridges so I may continue to print out individual students' access copies to prevent sharing of material between scholars. The laminator and pouches will afford us costless affordable reusable options for student individual reusable items to decrease the use of needing too many copies and assuring the need to not have them share materials due to the current state and rise of COVID cases amongst the younger scholars.
WICOR is an AVID strategy that integrates Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading; being an AVID Mathematics Site Team Member I have added learning components to ensure ALL lessons are incorporating these components as much as possible.
Binders will allow for my scholars to begin to keep and develop the organizational skills needed for their individual class notes. It will also begin to help those scholars that are having a greater struggle with multiple and a rotation of classes some 45 mins and others 90 minutes. The Guerrilla Military Grade Screen Protectors for the Graphing Calculator screen is to test the quality once on the students' shared TI N'Spire Calculators to prevent damage to the screens.
My students are ALL in my honors class, however, the majority attended classes virtually last year and the last Face-to-Face Learning experience was in an Elementary School. Due to this significant change in learning structures, many need assistance and tools to help them create a system of organization.
