This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten at a very low socioeconomic school. The majority of my students are second language learners. More than 3/4 of my class receives free or reduced-price lunch. My classroom also serves students with special needs.
Every day our students come to school excited to see what they will be learning.
Our students love school, they love to learn and are eager to learn.
We rely solely on donations and grants for classroom supplies and materials. Asking our families to help with fundraisers is out of the question.
My Project
I strive to teach my students to be self-sufficient and organized. Everything in our classroom has a specific place. This helps students to quickly find the things they need as well as guest teachers in our room. Kindergarten has a lot of hands-on teaching materials. Having tools to keep everything organized is essential. I also print a lot of resources for my students. I like to print in color so that the pictures are enticing to my learners. Our class needs the ink so we can continue printing in color.
The materials purchased will help to house math and literacy manipulatives and resources as well as personal student supplies
