Organizational Skills

My students need an iPad, Kindle, flashdrives and additional accessories to work on their homework assignments, do research, write papers, and use online resources to enhance their reading and math skills.

My Students

The majority of my students do not have the necessities of life. These items could allow them access to technology which will enhance their skills and open opportunities for them. Most do not have financial resources in their lives and this would be a wonderful gift for them to use in my classroom.

My students are in an area where gang activity and poverty exists.

They are very strong, tough students and need the chance to succeed. I have found them to be loving, thoughtful human beings with the desire to change their lives. They have trust issues, not much in the way of material things, and still manage to be amazingly caring and supportive of each other.

My Project

What a great way to help our students with their education and build skills for their future. An iPad would enable them to access technology which is lacking in our classroom. They could complete assignments and look up information as needed for all classes. A Kindle would give the students the ability to read in class since books are difficult to procure. Flashdrives are a must for our classroom and we do not have access to them which means our students tend to lose their assignments. This would be so helpful. Caring and trust are difficult for my students to comprehend, therefore, if they see that the community cares about them, they may pay it forward themselves.

This project is so important to me because my students are worth a lot more than they ever perceived themselves to be.

They deserve every bit of effort that the community and I can put out for them. If they had more technology, such as a Kindle to help with reading, an iPad for research, and a flashdrive to save their work, it would give them an opportunity to have advantages that other students take for granted. Thanks for this opportunity to share my wonderful creative students!
