Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend the first public school in Staten Island dedicated entirely to girls and gender-expansive youth, and they are in need of essential tools to maintain organization and structure in their learning environment.
Our school currently operates within a shared space alongside two other institutions and consequently, our physical education classes are conducted in a variety of locations, including the gymnasium, a classroom, and the cafeteria.
In an effort to create a functional space for physical activity, we have repurposed one of our classrooms into a makeshift "gym" by removing the desks. This same room also serves as the venue for our health classes.
The multitude of locations presents a challenge, making it difficult for students to stay organized.
The addition of these organizational supplies would be tremendously beneficial and would greatly enhance the learning experience for our students.
