Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"A person's a person, no matter how small." My students may be small four-year-olds, but they are still people who deserve a great education!

My school is a diamond in the rough--a brand new building in a highly low-income area, with all students in my class on free or reduced lunch.

My students are brilliant, wide-eyed, and love school. While they are expected to learn ten letters by the end of the year, a handful of my students are already memorizing sight words and reading simple blends, like "at." I owe this cleverness to the parents who are willing and able to take work sent home and complete it together.

My Project

With these supplies, I will be able to sort student work easily for better parent communication and organization. My students need storage for their weekly work. They are getting one tabletop paper center, one paper tray per student, and other organizers to keep us clean! The parents of my students beg me for work to do at home with their child, and so this will allow me to distribute writing practice pages and small books to read with their children.

This project will create a fluid system of classwork and homework distribution that will last for years to come!

Parents will be able to receive information seamlessly, and students will be able to practice name recognition when when they collect their work to take home.
