Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Giving students a space that is their own is most important in creating a positive classroom environment. My classroom is bright and relaxing to welcome my students daily. Privacy shields and book bins will allow students to have their personal space not only to work but to hold their materials as well. This will allow them the flexibility to choose to collaborate when appropriate or focus on independent work.

Organization is the first step in creating an all inclusive environment!

Privacy shields will allow my students focus on their work and assessments (when time) and not have to worry about other students being a distraction. Book bins will allow students to hold their own independent books to read during silent reading and any other materials they need during this time.Pencils, white board markers, and chart paper will be used during collaborative work during both Reading and Math lessons and centers.

Students collaborate daily in my classroom to create and show what they have learned. This collaboration provides a sense of inclusion where know that they are part of something important. We also have independent work time during each subject matter during the day. These materials will allow students the opportunity to differentiate between collaboration time and independent time.
