Organization Is the Key To Success!

Help me give my students the organization tools they need to have better success in my classroom with a new literature organizer.

My Students

I currently teach first grade. The students are excited every day to be in school. The students come from low-income households. At school, I want to give them every opportunity to learn and explore. They love that they are learning to add and subtract in math. Also, the students are currently beginning to read! This is very exciting, and they try and read everything they can, from posters to books.

The children and families in our school community are a diverse cross-section of many different cultures, ethnic groups, and languages.

We have an English as a second language program. We educate children from 24 different countries who speak 15 different languages. The students speak Bosnian, Spanish, Arabic, Albanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Sudanese, Somalian, Swahili, French, Kirundi, Bantu, Burmese, Vietnamese, Nepali, and Mai-Mai.

My Project

I will use these products to help keep my classroom organized.

Students will be able to file their papers neatly in their own special drawers.

Also, paper choice for students will be clearly labeled so that students can independently retrieve the paper they want to use for their assignments.

In my experience, I have seen students begin to work on an excellent writing piece but because they are unorganized, it gets lost.

I believe the key to success is to be organized. In this way students will be able to be successful in school and achieve academic success.
