Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Over half of my students are second language learners and over eighty percent of them receive free or reduced lunch. As these students receive instruction in English, many of them are balancing the difficult task of learning English at the same time as learning grade level standards. In addition to this balancing act some of my students walk into the classroom counting on the meals that are served at school. Although my students walk into our school/classroom with hardships that they cannot control they have a desire to learn. With this desire they find confidence within themselves to be resilient in life.

My Project

These materials will support students in keeping materials organized and support students with Math resources. Students will have buckets to put their classroom library books in, a number line and hundred's chart to help them with their Math, and pocket charts to display their learning throughout the year.

By having these materials students will have the perfect environment to learn.

In addition, it will teach students to care for their classroom and the materials in the classroom because there will now be plenty of storage for their materials. These skills are very valuable in life and will support them later in life.
