This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This has become the most important grant that I request on Donors Choose. At this point in my career, the binder that students receive and the organization of work that each student puts into it, is a school legend in and of itself. The majority of students that I teach still have their binders. Furthermore, the binder organization offers students peace of mind and supports structure in what can be a very difficult time for teenagers.
All teenagers need support with executive functioning skills and organization.
Students are supported with their academics by an organized binder. The binders have a specific organization that students understand. Homework assignment sheets, vocabulary, maps, graphic organizers, rubrics, class notes and worksheets, and the Harvard outlines in the back anchoring the work.
We humbly request support with this grant which is truly the most impactful of the year. Your generosity will ensure that our students begin the year organized and ready for success. I am writing this grant as we are studying for our Global Regents exam. The organized binders of the students support these studies as students are able to see the width and breadth of their work since September.
We are so very grateful for this grant that is so very impactful in my classroom, supporting pedagogy, executive functioning, and emotional stability.
