My Students

We are a part of a K-8 school in Brooklyn, New York. Every day that my fifth graders and I spend on Google Meets together is a day filled with excitement, discovery, and enrichment. We are a blended remote class of 51 students made up of a diverse mix of cultures, languages, and abilities.

They are working diligently to make the most of remote learning!

My Project

It is important to both teach and learn in an organized classroom environment, especially this year. Our classroom needs a new filing system for a couple of reasons. One being, I have many student files and portfolios that need to be kept on hand and organized for easy access. With my multiple cohorts that rotate throughout the week, it is important that my students' work is in a designated place for myself and them to access. Secondly, I use small group instruction and stations within my classroom daily, currently we have foldable file boxes that unfortunately collapse constantly, resulting in papers being crumbled and disorganized. With these new resources y students will be able to keep their work net and organized.

One of the drawers in this file cabinet will be utilized for my students to access their group materials for engaging tasks and assignments.

The colorful file folders will be used to color code the different subject areas for easy identification of all materials, so students know exactly where to find the needed materials.
