Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my first year teaching, so these students are my first group of students and I am so committed to helping them succeed. Being my first set of students, makes them extremely special to me. My students are bundles of curiosity and energy. They are always quick to express their minds and questions. Since they are so young, they are so blunt and are never afraid to say what they think. They are all native Spanish speakers and are transitioning in developing the English language as well.
My Project
We need bins that could be stored in a more accessible manner to my students. We also need the bins to store our manipulatives instead of using bags that are constantly ripping. Our school is a Title 1 school, a lot of students do not come to school with any of their own materials and the caddies would be used to be placed in each table so they would have access to everything they would need like crayons, glue, scissors and pencils. We would also use these caddies for our workstations. I would like to have timer so our students can see how much time they have to complete either classwork or workstations, I currently use my phone and they can’t see it so I feel like a timer would allow my students to be more aware of time
