Help me give my students the storage options they need to help them better manage materials. The paper (folder) sorter will help them find their materials much faster.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have great students, they're funny, inquisitive, and at times challenging. Some of my students have learning disabilities, autism, or have been diagnosed with ADHD. Most of my students need guidance on how to keep their materials organized. My goal is to help my students function in the classroom as smoothly as possible, without having to look for misplaced materials. The time to look for lost materials is time that's taken away from their learning and we cannot afford to miss a minute.
My Project
Whoever said, "Organizing is a big game of Tetris" described my classroom to a "T."

Creating an organized classroom is one of my lifelong goals. I'm always searching for ways to help improve my students' school lives. Students with certain disabilities need to be explicitly taught how to organize their materials. Using paper (folder) sorter will help my students not loose their materials. Critical time won't be spent in looking for lost folders, etc. Instead, the time can be used to become better readers, writers and mathematicians.
The sorter will help ME help them become more independent learners.
They will need these skills for the rest of their lives. One has to start teaching them early for them to be successful from the "get go."
