I teach a class full of bright, energetic, curious 2nd graders. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning styles. For that reason, I am always looking for engaging lessons that reach the needs and learning styles for all my students.
My students are excited about learning, explaining their thinking, sharing what they know, and experiencing the world around them.
My students work hard & play hard. No matter what we are learning about, my students fearlessly dive into learning and give it their all.
My Project
The majority of the items I am requesting (except for the blocks - which is for play, an important part of the day) can be used across all subjects. All students are more likely to thrive in a classroom community that is built upon organization, management, and procedures. These resources I am requesting provide that to my students this year & the years to come.
Anyone in the teaching profession KNOWS that "If chaos is king, the kingdom will fall." All classrooms, no matter the skill of the teacher or how fun the lesson is, needs to be organized, procedures need to be in place, and classroom management has to continually reinforced.
I have recently learned about Kagan structures which is all about how important engagement is for ALL students. It has CHANGED the way I teach. White boards will be incredibly helpful for ALL my students to be engaged rather than calling on just one student to answer a question. Privacy boards are really helpful during testing, it also helps my students who need help to focus on their work. The caddies will help with organization and students will have easy access to all of the most used supplies. The magnetic letters will be used with the whiteboards to help support spelling and phonics.
I am SO incredibly excited to have these resources in my classroom and I know my students will experience greater success because of them! Thank you!
