Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a suburban/urban school in the east valley of a metro area. We have a diverse, majority Hispanic student body. We are tucked into a neighborhood that was formerly mostly affluent, and white. As schools in our area have closed and neighborhood dynamics have shifted, our student body has become racially/ethnically, economically, and culturally diverse.
lack of access to materials needed to be successful is a huge problem our students face daily.
Having Notebooks will go a long way in creating student buy in and accontability for their work.
My Project
Students will stay organized and create a place for focused notes and oragainzation throughout the entire year. While using these note books, they will take charge of their learning, through checkpoints and streamlined expectations, students will know how to use, and whay they need to use an organizational tool like these notebooks. Keeping everything in one place will not only help with organiztion, it will also help with reducing waste, and excessive items in backpacks. By eliminating the exrtra disctractions,a nd items in their backpacks, students will learn that effective, orgainzed, studnet driven accountability is the way to be successful in school.
Having everything in one location will also reduce waste in giving out multiple copies, and help with completion of tasks, and create more student accountability for work.
