My students need stands and mallets for the Orff instruments that we use in class and in our after school Orff ensemble.

My Students
Oh, my aching knees! Not a statement you would expect from at 9 or 10 year old. However, constant kneeling on the floor to play Orff instruments can challenge even the youngest of knees!
My students are well behaved, and very motivated to play the Orff instrument.
They are in grades 1 through 5 and they have music class for 30 minutes twice a week. There is also an advanced Orff Ensemble that meets before school once a week. Students in all grades (1-5) use the Orff instruments from time to time in class.
My Project
I am requesting rolling carts for the larger Orff instruments at my school. These carts will raise the instruments off the floor allowing the students to stand as they play rather than kneel on the floor. This will save their poor aching knees AND make them more easily visible to their audience in performances. I am also requesting some Orff mallets to replace the 10 year old mallets we have now.
All grade levels (1-5) at my school use the Orff instruments occasionally in class.
This means approximately 800 students will benefit from these materials! Orff instruments are a wonderful way to teach rhythm, melody, harmony, and movement in an elementary school setting.
