My Students
I teach at two schools in our district. This school that I'm requesting this project for is behind the others when it comes to Orff instruments. There simply is just not enough instruments for the students. I would like to increase what we have with a set of bass bars!
I teach 400+ of the finest students our area has to offer.
They come from all walks of life. Middle income, low income, military, ESOL... all of these can be used to describe the background of our students. They are excited to participate in musical activities. And this is why I am trying to expand our instrument collection to accommodate more students.
My Project
Students will use the bass bar to provide a solid bass foundation for our Orff orchestration. Students will also be able to relate science of sound with music when we learn about how materials their sizes can affect sound. The younger students will be using the bass bar to learn how to keep a steady beat.
This will be the first project for the music class in this school.
The students will benefit from having extra instruments to perform on. This will prevent idle time to misbehave. I look forward to building our Orff base bar section as this will be the first piece.
