My Project
In Oregon, we have something called Battle of the Books, or OBOB for short. It is a competition made up of teams of up to 5 kids from all over the state. Every team reads the same 16 books from the same list, and there are always great books on it. Starting in February or so, the teams start competing against other teams in their school in a Jeopardy!-style competition about all the books. It is intense and the questions are crazy. It's super fun.
I love watching kids get excited about reading because of this competition every year.
Heck, both of my own children are doing it this coming year, one for the 3rd year in a row! I also help judge these competitions and love the passion for reading that they inspire.
Having 3 copies per book in my classroom will make sure that every student is able to have an OBOB book at once. I also will have some of the book clubs in my class reading them as well, so multiple copies are necessary for that. Thank you so much for considering donating to this project.
