Ordinary Classroom Supplies for Extraordinary Students

My Students

The students at my school are an amazing group of kids who are chomping at the bit to learn all they can. They are so excited to be at school. Our school, comprised of K-5 students, is focusing on having a growth mindset.

Our kids have really taken the growth mindset idea of "the power of yet" to heart.

They are hard workers and dedicated learners. Our students already understand that mistakes and failures are parts of learning and help us grow so they are not afraid to try in class! They welcome the challenges they're given because they understand that hard things help their brains grow and become smarter!

My Project

These materials that I'm requesting are things that we use every day in the classroom. It's hard as a teacher using consumable materials like these because when you get a whole new group of kids every year, they need the same materials that get used up year after year.

These basic materials are used by the kids every day, yet I am not permitted to ask my students' families for these supplies.

So it is left to me, as the teacher, to use my limited legislative money (and often my own personal money) to buy and provide them for students. The folders we use every day to store and organize papers, assignments, etc. The red pens will be used to grade and score assignments and edit/revise peer writing projects. The cleaning wipes are lifesavers for helping to clean up after completed projects, activity days, and keep germs/colds from spreading...we all know how many germs get spread around easily with kids!
