This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students almost all come from low-income families. Many of them haven't been taught to value education, and almost all of them don't like math. (Let's be honest, most people say they don't like math.) To help encourage my students to learn, and to support their various learning needs, I try to create an engaging learning environment. Sometimes, I even like to treat them to room transformations.
These gowns, gloves and masks will be used to create an order of operations operating room!
I was able to do the 2 years in a row and my students loved it, but my supplies have worn out or weren't reusable. I would love to be able to continue to provide this unique activit for my students, but I have to be able to secure the supplies before our unit in October!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
