This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am the orchestra teacher at our middle school and I love to expose my students to all kinds of music! My students can play everything from classical music to rock! However, there are two types of string bass instruments in orchestra; the upright and the electric bass. We currently are in need of electric basses so that we can modernize our sound when performing contemporary music! All of my bass players are taught how to play both the upright bass and the electric bass so that when they leave the orchestra program they can play in multiple settings.
Currently, if students cannot afford to own their own, they share the one bass we have in class.
I would love for all my bass players, despite their socio-economic status to be able to play at all times so they can be the best they can be with their instrument.
