My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds, both socioeconomic and ethnic. They live in a smaller city in the south central part of the U.S. They are 8 and 9 years old. In Third Grade, students work hard to become independent and more responsible classroom and school citizens. We study all core subjects in my classroom, in addition to art and community building activities. Needless to say, we will become a family and will feel that our classroom is a home away from home during our year together.

My Project

We have a lot to learn and many activities and assignments to complete each day. All my students will benefit from reading/activity chairs, bouncy bands, and fidget toys as we go through our learning day.

Although my students and I take many brain breaks throughout our day, being able to offer them additional ways to release energy, take mental breaks, or move around, while still learning, would increase our productivity and make learning more fun!

With these choices, my students can decide for themselves when they need and additional brain break. These items can be rotated amongst all my students and thus benefit them all!
