My Students
My students are 5 and 6 year's old which makes them pandemic toddlers. Covid-19 shut down schools when these kids were 3 years old. Most of what they remember in life has been during this pandemic. Their normal is not normal. However, even with the craziness the world is in, they continue to have a positive outlook and roll with whatever new mitigation practices we have in place.
My Project
My kindergarten students this year are more fidgety and restless than ever before. They have been confined in various ways over the last two years since Covid-19 took over. Our current classroom chairs are 29 years old and some of them don't glide on the carpet resulting in students falling off their chairs. We have 2 wobble chairs in our room and the consensus from students is that they all learn best when sitting on the wobble chairs. Currently, we have to take turns with the 2 wobble chairs we have.How amazing would it be if all students had the opportunity to learn on a chair they feel is best for their need to move?!?
