My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds. They are very diverse, as our school services a coastal area that is rapidly growing and changing. Many of my students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of them come to school with few educational experiences other than what they receive within school walls and with concerns to meet everyday needs. In the Gifted and Talented setting, my students get unique experiences as I challenge them during our time together.

My Project

I would love to introduce my students to the world of coding and robotics through the use of Ozobots. In my Gifted and Talented classroom, we do a lot of things that they don't get the opportunities to do in their general education classrooms. I am able to supply them with challenging opportunities where they grow new skills based on the tasks. They would love the entire process of learning how they work and using them to code and create.

Ozobots in our classroom will allow students to work in small groups as they investigate how coding works and learn to apply the knowledge.

Ozobots will help students demonstrate their knowledge in reading, math, and science. By integrating the use of Ozobots in multiple subjects students will be better prepared for jobs of the future. Ozobots will be an additional tool to use in meeting the educational needs of students. The Ozobots use colors to code them so colored markers are needed to use them most effectively.
