Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a 6:1:1 class of students who are in a low-income/high poverty school district. They have moderate to severe disabilities. I have three non-verbal students that require a lot of extra support. Most of them need sensory tools that can help. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I want to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are very creative and excited to learn new things.
With the appropriate support, we will be able to accomplish a lot together as a class family. With sensory needs they require additional support to function better in the classroom.
My Project
My students find it hard and sometimes unable to self-regulate and attend to difficult academic tasks. Our students will be able to use the different sensory materials and visual supplies to process information better. Most of my students need visual cues so laminating allow them to reuse materials daily. I need the cash register for them to practice buying and selling so when we go to community walks they will be familiar.
