This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the pleasure of working in the same district I am a product of, which was always a professional goal early on in my career. Over the years, our district has become increasingly more diverse and the specific school I work in has earned equity-focus status in the DonorsChoose community. With that comes additional layers of need amongst our student population, especially when it pertains to procuring tangible materials.

We are kindly asking for your help to fund classroom materials that will help us stay healthy such as disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, and cleaning spray.

Our school is a STEM and Global Studies focused academy where technology is used on a regular basis and group work is designed as part of most lessons. As a result, we have seen an uptick in illnesses among our entire population. Your assistance will help us relieve the unnecessary strain placed on our immune systems and on our nurse's office.
