My Project

Hunger shouldn’t be a barrier to learning, but for some of my students, it is.

Whether they didn’t have time for breakfast, don’t have snacks at home, or are just growing kids with big appetites, I often see students struggling to stay focused simply because they’re hungry.

I want to change that with something simple but powerful: a classroom snack station.

I would like to set up a designated area in our classroom where students can grab a quick snack without being asked any questions. Whether it’s a poptart, a pack of crackers, or some fruit cups, the goal is simple: if a student is hungry, they have something to eat. It’ll be a quiet, no-big-deal kind of setup, just part of the room, no attention drawn, no embarrassment.

Just a way to help them refocus, feel better, and get back to learning.

With your support, I’ll be able to keep our snack area stocked and organized, allowing students to take care of their needs and stay mentally and emotionally engaged. A little snack can go a long way in helping kids feel seen, supported, and ready to succeed.
