Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help students develop social and emotional skills while also providing a fun, engaging, and low-pressure way to interact with their peers. Our goal is to successfully implement board games into our school's activities to enhance, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and strategy.
Strategy games like "Chess," "Checkers," or "Go" that can help students think critically and make calculated decisions.
This allows for positive encouragement, and allows for staff to motivate students to help each other understand the rules and celebrate their successes.
Making connections is so important for school age students. This can help them make connections between the skills developed during the games and their everyday interactions.
The use of board games to complement classroom learning, will reinforce math concepts, while language games can help with vocabulary and grammar.
Remember, the goal is to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable and excited to engage in these activities. By providing a structured yet flexible environment, you can help them unplug, reset, and build important social and emotional skills through the timeless tradition of board games.
