This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having a refrigerator in the classroom to store water is a practical and thoughtful way to support students’ health and well-being. During the school day, students can become dehydrated, especially in warmer weather or after physical activities like recess and PE. Access to cold, refreshing water encourages students to stay properly hydrated, which can help improve focus, energy levels, and overall mood. When water is readily available in the classroom, it minimizes the need for students to leave to get drinks, reducing disruptions and keeping learning time uninterrupted.
Additionally, a classroom fridge dedicated to storing water promotes healthier habits by offering a better alternative to sugary drinks and sodas.
It encourages students to choose water as their primary drink, which supports better physical health, concentration, and long-term wellness. In emergencies, such as a heatwave or schoolwide water supply issues, having cold water on hand ensures students remain safe and comfortable. A classroom fridge isn’t just a convenience — it’s a simple, effective way to foster a healthier, more focused learning environment.
