Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology is so important in today's classrooms, especially for special needs students. Having access to an iPad will change the way content is taught and will enable my ELL and special needs students to thrive.
I am currently working in a blended Pre-Kindergarten classroom with both ELL and special needs students in a high poverty urban Chicago school.
Many of my students are developmentally delayed and require many other services, like social emotional, speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
My Project
An iPad is a versatile tool to have in the classroom. There are an endless number of apps that will greatly help my students. We will be able to engage our students in activities that will help them practice pre-academic skills and increase their communication abilities. The use of technology in the classroom will help my students access a variety of resources and apps to help them thrive. Not only will the iPad serve my students, but also as a way to hold music, documents, and files at a click of a button.
This project is important because high quality early intervention programs make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
The earlier children receive services the better chance they have to be successful in the classroom.
