My Project
Our students are learning that even smalls acts of kindness can have a big impact- and now, they want to give back in a meaningful way. As a Title 1 school, many of our families face challenges accessing books at home. To help bridge that gap and support our community, our class is creating a Little Lending Library- a small, free book exchange open to everyone in the neighborhood.
This project began as part of a lesson on problems faced within our community and how we can make a difference.
Our students discussed ways to make a difference and were inspired by the idea of sharing books with others. They're excited to design, decorate and stock the library themselves, putting their learning into action, while promoting literacy and kindness.
With your support, we can provide materials to build and weatherproof the library, as well as a starter collection of books for all ages. This project will not only encourage reading but will also show our kids that they have the power to make the world a better place- one book at a time.
