This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What does the future hold, in education? It's incredible how technology has changed how we can learn. We want to be able to learn from others through Skype.

I have twenty first graders who are excited and motivated to meet and learn with other students from around the world.

My students come from low-income families who rarely have the chance to come in contact with other cultures. They are eager to use Skype to meet and learn with students and teachers from the different regions of the world they learn about.

My Project

These iPods will make an enormous impact in my students education. They will get to use Skype to learn and communicate in "real life" with students from different parts of the world. They will be able to share what we are learning about and vice versa, share stories, and collaborate in projects. These iPods will also be used on a daily basis by using the apps available for listening to stories, writing stories, improving vocabulary and high frequency word recognition, and to practice math concepts.

Help my students have access to up to date technology in education.

The world we live in is much more than the world they know everyday. Give my students a chance a meet and learn with students and teachers from other parts of the world. Skype can open up the world to my eager learners and give them the chance to see there is much more out there, than their "little world".
