Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Clark PreK-8 School has a diverse group of students with varying abilities from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds. We want our students to thrive and to be their best selves. House teams were implemented to provide social and emotional support and encourage positive behaviors. Different positive character traits are focused on monthly, while positive incentives are provided. Students are individually recognized as well as a team. All students and staff members belong to specific house teams. The house team I belong to is Onraka (the orange team). Several other staff members and over 50 students in grades 3-8 also belong to Onraka.

Team Onraka believes that unity in diversity is their true strength.

Each member is unique and different, and these differences are appreciated and even celebrated. They choose unity over everything, even with differences put aside. During the last meeting for this school year, we will be participating in a chant off with the other teams in our school. We would love to show our unity by wearing matching orange sunglasses and wristbands with the message “We Stand Together” during the chant off. We would love for you to help us make this happen.
