My students are so full of life and love of learning. The population, of our little Title I school in Brooklyn, NY is made up of many different cultures, from all over the world, who work together to help build peace at home, at school and in our community.
They are the peace builders for the future.
They are learning to communicate and collaborate to solve problems and learn. They are learning to have a growth mindset and know that mistake only opens another door towards the solution. They will practice these skills and more as we explore through STEAM activities.
My Project
I was originally funded for my project "Only One You" in December. With that project we received paint markers and river rocks. The students had a blast creating uniquely decorated rocks. These rocks will go into our school's Peace Garden.
There is Only One You and it is important that students learn to love themselves as well as appreciate and respect those differences of others.
This project is centered on allowing the students time to identify their unique traits and celebrate the uniqueness of their classmates.
Unfortunately, I did not estimate the correct number of rocks to order. Mary McD was kind and donated more so that I can purchace more rocks and paint markers. Thank you So much!!!!
