This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
After 17 years of teaching, this is a whole new beginning! I teach in a fairly poor neighborhood where my students qualify for 100% free breakfast and lunch daily.
My students are my heroes.
Some share their beds, bedrooms, or homes with extended families. Many of my students are English Language Learners. Even though they may not have it "easy," they show up every day (and now on zoom) with a smile on their faces to do their job as a student.
They work so hard on a daily basis to keep their grades up and make their families proud. I love my job and I LOVE my students.
My Project
These materials will make it very easy for me to teach virtually! So much of what teachers are given is to be used in person. Since we are still learning virtually, it is very difficult and time consuming to create work for my students to do whole group and independently. Teachers pay teachers is a great resource that has countless engaging activities for teachers and students. There are so many wonderful resources on this website that are already created and aligned with Common Core Standards! I use this website weekly but the costs are adding up!
