Help me give my students constructive feedback by printing their assignments and returning them with customized suggestions that will support their learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are considered a Title I school, and 95% of our students qualify for free lunch. Our school is located in South Central Los Angeles and we service 60% Latino/Hispanic and 40% African American students.
Recently there has been an influx of Central Americans that have enrolled, which means we need to provide our students with more language support.
Along with language support, we need to provide students with emotional and social learning tools.
We provide instruction for grades PreK-5th and our current school population is about 450 students.
My Project
One of the most frustrating things during this distance learning transition has been the physical aspect of writing and providing feedback on the work students submit. It would be great to print out the assignments and have students pick up their graded work at the end of the week. As much as we provide comments on the digital work some students, especially our younger students, need that physical copy. This will encourage and motivate students to work hard and submit their assignments on time. There are various forms that we are required to print and sign so I need access to a reliable printer.
