Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school just opened 8-8-16 with 387 students. Now, are numbers have greatly increased. Most of my students came to school with almost no English and some had trouble communicating even in their own language.
My students are eager to learn English but most of their parents do not speak it at home.
I believe that the basis for a good literacy program is listening and understanding a language. The next step in my project is to support their online learning at home.
96% of my students are Hispanic Latino and 97% of them receive free/reduced lunch. They do not have the resources to listen to academic materials at home.
My Project
These materials can support my students' language skills and language development needs.
My students love to use BrainPop Jr and they need more support with language.
Brainpop ELL would help them improve their language skills. Nearpod is an interactive platform that would encourage their participation during online lessons.
My students need to practice and support with their reading, writing and speaking and listening skills. Having these online products will help me provide my students a great learning experience. My students work hard and they are eager to learn. I hope with your support, they will succeed learning online!
