Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach fourth- and fifth-grade gifted students. Our school is a Title I elementary school. Although they come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, they are eager to learn and break the cycle. Since most come from immigrant households, oftentimes, education is not their parents’ first priority.
My Project
Teaching from home faces many challenges. Although we all hope this ends soon, the reality is that no one can be sure exactly how long this nightmare will go on. In order to provide my students with the proper instruction, I need the technology to keep up with the vast array of programs and educational platforms that are emerging on a daily basis. Distance learning has taken a toll on everyone involved; from teachers to students as well as parents. Hopefully, with the proper equipment, I can do my part to alleviate one aspect of the challenge.
