This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many words come to mind when I think about my 3rd-grade students at Nevitt Elementary. There are some obvious ones like kind, silly, motivated, and empathic. However, for the 20-21 school year, the word that best describes my students is strong. Despite all the challenges my students have faced this year, they continue to rise and preserve. Each day my students inspire me and motivate me to become a better teacher.

My Project

It has been incredible watching the 3rd graders at Nevitt Elementary School grow as digital citizens. They began their journey as online students with limited typing skills and little knowledge of how to navigate online. As the year went on, they became more comfortable navigating through the google applications and developed a love for online learning tools such as pear deck and prodigy. As our students continue to grow as digital learners, we as teachers are continuously looking for resources to keep them engaged. A $100 gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers would allow us to purchase a fun and interactive curriculum to help keep our students engaged in virtual learning.
