Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 32 enthusiastic students that are full of life and ready to learn everyday. My 4th grade students come from low incomes areas of Washington Heights. These students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. In addition to our free meal program our school also provides free uniforms and backpacks full of school supplies. Many of our students are in difficult living arrangements so as a school we pride ourselves on being able to help them in various ways.
A majority of my students face many hardships in there everyday lives, so when they come to school it is a safe outlet for them.
My students come to school eager to learn and ready to do their very best. Implementing technology in the classroom would be a great way to enhance enrichment throughout each day. Students will be able to adapt to new forms of learning and they will be able to learn through one another by participating in collaborative work. These students are willing and ready to start their pathway to higher education.
My Project
I am asking for an Elmo visual presenter. The practice of teacher modeling is a daily action in our classroom. Not only is modeling done to enhance student’s abilities in academics but socially as well. When students are given the opportunity to model their own work to their peers it not only enhances enrichment, but it helps develop positive social interactions.
Using this form of technology in the classroom will help develop and encourage all learning and social abilities.
I will be able to model how to complete mathematical equations, teach students how to effectively take notes with a highlighter, show examples of writing pieces, have students show their own writing pieces to each other and so much more.
The use of this technology in our classroom will help keep the students interested and focused. Being exposed to various forms of technology enhances their desire to learn and come ready to learn everyday.
