This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a Title I school, I face many challenges to help my students succeed. However, each student that enters my classroom has such a love of learning and desire to be successful. Inside the classroom, I have students from multiple grade levels at the same time. Station-based learning is consistently going on to meet the needs of the students.
These incredible learners are scientists, mathematicians, authors, readers, engineers, and thinkers.
Your donation will help these little minds access resources and technology to improve their learning on a daily basis. Each student comes in with different backgrounds, interests, and language abilities. Meeting their individual needs is my goal. Your generosity will help my students and I achieve new goals.
My Project
Imagine a classroom full of multigrade students all engaged in learning activities that meet their individual needs and talents. My classroom is full of future engineers, scientists, authors, illustrators, and more. With the current digital resources, so much of our learning is done through the use of our Promethean Board in the classroom. Our district does a great job providing us with digital resources and digital tools to use on a daily basis to transform our learning building on the 21st century skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. We have access to the digital versions of all textbooks, Discovery Education, myON, and so much more. However, preparing and using these resources requires updated technology to make the most use of them. My goal for the last several years is to create a one-to-one device classroom in which all students have access to a device.
Learning how to reinvent the classroom during current conditions requiring distance learning that focuses on the use of technology and developing students skills.
Because of the skills my students already developed, they are being successful during distance learning. Technology and different platforms students were already familiar with made the transition much easier. Students in my class use our digital tools to learn and create on a daily basis. My goal is to continue increasing our digital tools until we have enough for all students. With generous donations, I am on my way to this goal. My eager to learn students jump at the chance to use an iPad to write a story and add digital illustrations. This leads to deeper understanding and building connections between ideas. On top of this, we are a S.T.E.A.M. school. Going forward, I would love to have a one-to-one classroom to also limit device sharing in the classroom!
