Our girls soccer players are goofy, intense, responsible, and fun-loving. They make us laugh, they drive us crazy, but most importantly, they want to improve individually & win as a team. We have a highly competitive group of girls who are interested in pursuing soccer at a higher level and leaving their mark on the program while still in high school. They are willing to put in the work to achieve a state championship and are actively looking for ways to prepare in the offseason.
As a team, they chose the motto "Train Insane, or Remain the Same".
It will be printed on our team shirts and it will be repeated at every practice. It has already become our mantra as we run our preseason workouts. The season is still months away, but these girls are ready to go. They are excited about the possibilities that this season holds and are ready to show our competition what we are made of. Their mental preparation has begun, and now as coaches, we need to focus on the physical part.
My Project
An emphasis of our coaching staff this year is to put in work early and reap the benefits during the season. Our team has always been competitive at the state level, but we are looking to finish the year as the North Carolina 3A State Champions. Every coach knows the work begins well before the games do, but this year, we want to be intentional about how we train during our pre-season. Having access to resistance training resources during pre-season will take our girls to the next level with their strength and balance so we can minimize our injuries this year and consistently keep our best team on the field.
New season, new coach, new attitude.
We've always been competitive, but now we want to be intentionally competitive. Every day at practice, every drill we execute, every sprint we run will be intentional. Our coaching staff is committed to emphasizing hard work over talent and the value in the little things. By using these supplies, we can begin to communicate to our girls what it means to work hard individually so that the team can benefit. Soccer goes beyond high school and these tools will help our athletes achieve their post-secondary dreams.
