it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Thank you for taking the time to consider funding our project! Every day I am afforded the opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant and engaging young minds.
My students are bright, hardworking, and determined.
The success of my students can be contributed to determination, not opportunity. The students I service come from a wide variety of nationalities. Many have families from the United States, others are first generation Americans. Some do not even speak English when they come into my classroom. The one thing they all have in common is that, they all come from backgrounds of generational poverty. My students have to work twice as hard as most students to succeed. Our motto is, "Learning is our lifestyle, and failure is not an option." Please, help me close the opportunity gap and allow my students to continue to flourish.
My Project
The materials in this project will provide my students with the opportunity to choose books of interest. The books will be housed in the book bins in the classroom library. Students will have the opportunity to read these books daily. Research has proven, students who have the opportunity to select books of choice often read more and increase their reading ability quicker, than students who are not allowed a choice of what they read.
Reading is an essential life skill.
Your generous donation will provide my students the ability to interact with various types of books and news articles. Kindergarten is the foundation of a students academic career. Please, help me set the ground work for their future success.
