One Snack is Worth Millions

Help me give my students Pop-Tarts, pretzels, and granola bars to provide snacks in my room to ensure everyone is able to focus.

My Project

The various assortment of snacks will be a big help in my classroom year-round. One important thing I learned from school was Maslow's Hierarchy. This theory is a pyramid that is built on the basic needs of life. From there, the levels become more specific to being able to learn, feel safe, and focus better.

If students come in hungry, they cannot learn as well.

Students need their basic needs met before they can start to learn and join the rest of the class. We have all had a time when we went too far past our time of hunger or have had nothing to eat. We become irritable, some become nauseous, and the feeling takes over. This feeling of hunger takes over everything and becomes our main focus and priority. When we are hungry, that is the only thing we think about until we are able to eat.

The goal for this project is to acquire snacks that I can keep in my cabinet for times of need. I would love to be able to give students who come in late and do not eat breakfast, a snack of some sort. I would also really like to be able to give a small snack out at the end of the day to ensure that they have at least had a little something to eat before they leave my room.

My students are such amazing hard workers. They try their best and exert their energy to their academics. A little treat to boost their mood and ensure they are still focused on learning will be a huge blessing to us all. Thank you in advance!
