Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a third-grade inclusion classroom at my school. This mix of students includes special education, general education, and unidentified students aged 8-9 years old. These students were on zoom during their kindergarten year because of Covid, and many missed the phonetic skills needed to gain an understanding of how to read. Therefore, I am asking for phonics/writing games to engage and enhance their learning of literacy.
Education is not a "one size fits all" domain.
These students come from varying backgrounds, knowledge levels, abilities, disabilities, and skill sets. No two students learn exactly the same way. Chinese New Year is approaching, and it would be wonderful if I could help them gain the literacy skills needed to understand and comprehend this miraculous event. Therefore, I believe these phonetic and writing games will be helpful in increasing the students' success in literacy.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
