My Students

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."-Goethe My students have so many great ideas and work samples they want to share with their peers. They are excited and inspired to achieve their potential when they can teach through their work.

The students in my classroom come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

Our school is an inclusive setting that teaches students with disabilities in the same classrooms with students who are typically developing. The students love learning together and need the opportunity to share skills. The students are a diverse learning community that works together. Inclusive education means that children who reflect the demographics of the surrounding region—including children who develop typically, children with special needs and children who are gifted—learn side by side. My school's model allows for the individual needs of each child to be addressed in a manner that enhances each child’s strengths while also addressing learning needs.

My Project

A projector in our classroom will make a tremendous difference for my students. The students will be able to share pictures, display student created Power Point presentations, watch educational video and display their projects for the entire class to see. The addition of a projector in our classroom would allow us to impact student achievement for students with visual impairments, as well as those students that learn visually. The opportunity to project and enlarge a variety of lessons, such as math, would provide lessons that are universally designed. These lessons would address the needs of all students in the classroom. Teaching children by using various forms of technology to present lessons is a fun and stimulating way to engage students. Computer software can immediately turn a lap top into an interactive whiteboard with many digital tools for the students to utilize. A projector will let me use a lap top for this purpose. I will use these tools to maximize student learning.

Above I have indicated many ways that a projector will benefit my students and unlock their maximum potential.

Donations to this request will impact my students by helping them to access materials in a different way. It will inspire them to do their best work and take pride in sharing it with the other students in the class. It will enhance their speaking skills as they present to the class and show different ways to approach a problem in a lesson. It will enhance their learning.
