My students need various math supplies such as, number puzzles, addition activities and clipboard math activities to further develop their math skills.
Our class supply of math resources is lacking excitement. We need items that will engage students and make learning math concepts more fun.
We sing, play games, and incorporate movement into our math learning, but new supplies would be greatly appreciated!
100% of the students at my school receive a free breakfast and lunch everyday.
Working in a high poverty school has many challenges. Lack of parental support, poor attendance, high mobility rates and students entering school lacking readiness skills are a few of the challenges that exist at my school.
Despite these challenges, my students work hard and are very eager to learn.
My Project
The supplies I have requested will allow my students opportunities to master important math skills in a fun, hands-on, collaborative way with their peers.
Let me count the ways my students will benefit:
1. During math centers my students will develop math fluency by listening to the math CD while they manipulate objects to solve simple addition problems.
2. Students will travel in pairs with clipboards to survey students and tally their responses. We will use this data to create and display graphs in the classroom.
3. The read and solve word problem center will help students develop their reading AND math skills while they solve math problems.
4. Stretching out on the floor while completing a number puzzle will help students with number identification and counting. Both puzzles will be a popular choice for students!
Only with your support will I be able to offer these wonderful supplies to my students.
The supplies are durable and will last for many years, enabling many students to benefit.
Thank you for reading and caring about how you can help my students succeed.
