Help me give my students a Cricut Explore Air 2 - Mint.
It will give my students the ability to create and cut out their own designs using machinery and technology that is used in the art industry.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
PS 291 is an urban school with an extremely limited budget. We are a 100% free lunch district that can hardly afford paper towels for our classrooms. Many of our students speak limited English and find it difficult to manage in the classroom setting due to language barriers.
I teach 5th Grade General Ed and incorporate art and technology in most of the curriculum I teach.
I am in awe at the work that my students create every day.
I am asking for help to fund a Cricut machine and the materials needed to go with it. Students would be able to use computer software to create images that can be transferred to their art projects. This would also help the school create visually clean bulletin boards that give the students pride in their school. It has been my goal this year to add more technology to the art room and having a Cricut would be a great way to do that. Students could use the machine to add textures and patterns to their work. The possibilities are endless! Many of my students already have amazing ideas for adding details using the Cricut to their teapots, planters, and mugs, but I don't have the resources to make this a reality.
