Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to be so engrossed in a book that you just couldn't put it down? Those books can change lives!
My students' enthusiasm for learning and reading is the best part of being a teacher.
I teach at a Title 1 school with students from a high-need community and a high number of English Language Learners, but most importantly, the most passionate learners I've ever worked with! The only challenge to matching their enthusiasm is simply getting my hands on enough resources!
My Project
My students love nothing more than an engaging book that consumes their thoughts, imaginations, and dreams! As a teacher, I love nothing more than seeing how their joy for reading support their literacy skills! A great book can make students think critically about the characters, the challenges they face, and lessons learned along the way.
These books will allow my students to engage in collaborative literature studies without having to share a book with multiple classmates.
Students would have their own book to read and reference during discussions, empowering them to own their learning!
