My Students

These students are hands-on learners. Even though they live in a high poverty area they come to school with an attitude of learning. Each child has a story of challenges that they are striving to overcome. Most of these students are looking for ways to express themselves and need to be given positive and appropriate means to do so. They visually connect to their learning and are able to express themselves through various mediums. We've been developing skills through music, theater and dance; and now we want to bring in the visual arts.

My Project

When this project is fully funded students will be able to explore and learn about physical science with a sports context. Students will be able to easily gather data on variables, angles, heights, and lengths to support their analysis and synthesis. This will allow students to integrate their learning into mathematics for a cross-curriculum experiences. Students will be able to work with various partners to discuss their results and compare how their designs have different impacts on the data that the students decide to work with making this a unique and changing project.
